Current Young-Earth Research: Dinosaur Soft Tissues

Thomas, B. (2009). Dinosaur soft tissues: They’re real! ICR.

Schweitzer found DNA, proteins, soft blood vessels, and blood cells inside fossilized dinosaur remnants. The scientific community believes that biological molecules and structures could not survive millions of years; thus, they continuously tried to debunk her discovery. Evolutionists have been unsuccessfully explaining this phenomenon by bacterial activity, distortions or data errors, and contamination in the lab. With the help of sterile excavation and third-party assistance, Schweitzer’s team proved that bacteria unable to manufacture the collagen and vertebrate blood vessels found. Next, Thomas (2009) reveals that John Asara identified clear collagen signatures in the tissues, while Palo Alto’s researchers verified his data using bioinformatics and statistical techniques. The presence of blood vessels in the fossil remnants of creatures that extinct eons ago can be explained by their non-organic nature. The other option is that Schweitzer’s team discovered an unknown natural process that preserved soft tissues for such a long time (Thomas, 2009). Both of them are unlikely and unrealistic pleading arguments that do not have evidence. The author’s last and most realistic explanation is that the sedimentary rock and remnants it encased are not millions of years old.

I would put 5 to this article since its content and Schweitzer’s findings strongly support the young-Earth view. Evolutionary scientists believe that Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago and died due to climate change, volcanic activity, and asteroid impact. On the contrary, creation scientists suggest that the main reason for dinosaur extinction is the great Flood that ravaged the Earth for one year (Clarey, 2015). It seems that they talk about different time frames that have millions of years between them.

There is no doubt that such biological structures could be preserved maximum for a few tens of thousands of years. Thus, dinosaur remnants found by Schweitzer’s team should be thousands of years old instead of millions. This discovery is totally outside the evolutionary paradigm but perfectly fits the Flood model and Biblical timeline. Under the creationist view, dinosaurs and humanity were created on the same day by the Lord. The ravaged floodwaters gradually killed dinosaurs since they tried to escape them occupying highlands, while Noah’s faithful family survived on the ship with God’s assistance (Clarey, 2015). Schweitzer’s findings reveal that dinosaurs possibly lived alongside men relatively recently and did not manage to survive the Flood.

To conclude, this article is significant in supporting the young-Earth view since it undermines the scientific timeframe of dinosaurs’ existence. The soft tissues found by Schweitzer provide additional evidence for the Genesis and the great Flood stories.
