Apple’s Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility

The concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is new and increasing quickly for an organization. According to Velte (2021), corporate social responsibility (CSR) describes how businesses incorporate environmental and social issues into their day-to-day practices and interactions with various stakeholders. Furthermore, corporate social responsibility is an independent business model that enables a company to embrace social responsibility for itself, its stakeholders, and the general public. Certain departments, such as marketing and sales, will help specific objectives, such as the growth of expanded markets or the rise in sales, accomplish their targets. Moreover, human resources management will be engaged in the planning and ongoing technical advancement of all employee education programs.

The basic purpose of CSR operations is to ensure the ethical execution of all essential business procedures. Since 2008, millions have received training from the multinational technology giant Apple. The Information Technology giant provides workers with a comparative edge. In particular, pregnant mothers may take up to a month before and close to 14 weeks after childbirth, while fathers and other non-born parents are entitled to up to a month and two weeks of maternity and paternity leave (Dudovskiy, 2021). In 2018, Apple fired five vendors from its supply chain for failing or refusing to participate in human rights checks.

In Apple’s financial reports, income, operating profit, net profit, sales expenses, and earnings per share are key factors. These measures indicate the overall financial performance of the organization. Apple’s financial data is a strong indicator of the financial recovery from the last financial crisis. Apple’s abnormally high sales and profits resulting from investments in product enhancements that match the needs and wants of the target markets. Its outstanding sales growth, which has led to an increase in earnings per share, enhanced the company’s reputation.

Apple’s financial performance is a strong sign that the economy is progressively rebounding from the recent economic downturn. Apple’s unnaturally high sales and earnings are the consequence of product updates that meet the demands and desires of the target markets (Dudovskiy, 2021). Its extraordinarily strong sales performance, which has contributed to a rise in earnings per share, has enhanced the brand’s reputation.

The initial perception of Apple was that it is a globally renowned industry that has changed the technology sector and is evolving at a pace that is exponential. As such, it can be apparent that it was exaggerated and that they could make several adjustments to enhance their circumstances. Based on the company’s efforts, today, there is a significantly different perception. In this regard, Apple’s financial performance clearly indicates the gradual recovery from the last fiscal crisis.

Apple’s unusually high sales and profits result from product enhancements that suit the needs and desires of the target market. Its exceptional sales performance, which led to rising earnings per share, has enhanced the corporation’s reputation. In addition, they have attempted to resolve the moral difficulties by focusing on labor and human rights. It has cut unnecessary expenses and banned unfair practices.

Moreover, Apple’s social responsibility (CSR) programs and projects are overseen by Vice President of Environmental Projects Lisa Jackson, who directly reports to the firm’s executive, Tim Cook. Apple’s vendor operations employ more than one million people; thus, the company’s operations have major social effects. Financial backing for local people, reducing waste, human and labor rights, equality of the sexes, safety, and health, are among the defining characteristics of CSR.

Overall, organizations’ CSR strategies are the reasons such firms comply with ethical practices. The initiatives protect and ensure feasible operations in organizations are sustainable. Thus, at Apple, the practices have been fundamental in the IT pioneer’s programs. As that, it has ensured the organization protects the welfare of its workers, as well as being environmentally conscious. Since Apple has clear guidelines in moral policies, it has ensured all and sundry ethical demands are met convincingly.
